India's 27th state Uttaranchal
was Born at Dehradun on November 9,2000 Uttar Pradesh reorganisation
bill 2000,for the creation of this state was passed by the parliament on
august 10,2000. The state saw it's first chief minister in Nityanand
Swami of BJP. It is woth remembering that demand for Uttaranchal
was first made at the karachi session of the congress in 1930. It was
later piced up by the P.C Joshi,General Secretary of the undivided
communist party.,in 1952. Known for the historic Chipko and the anti
liquor movements ,the Uttarakhand kranti dal (founded in 1979)
Championed the caused for the separate state. That is hill people were
prepared to pay with blood to achieve their aim was also demonstrated
when Uttarakhand agitations were killed during the Mulayam Singh Yadav's
dispensation in Uttar Pradesh. Then prime minister Deve Gowda took
everyone by surprise when he announced from rampart's of red fort on
august 15,1994 that Uttarakhand will became a reality soon and finally
it did became a reality with the formation of new state Uttaranchal, The
assembly strength of Uttaranchal is 70. A separate high court for
Uttaranchal has been created at Nainital .It's acting chief justice
administered the oath of office the Governor Surjeet Singh
Bernala ,who in turn administered the oath of the office to the
Uttaranchal legislative party leader Nityanand Swamy as the first chief
minister of the state.The state has five lok sabha seat's.
