Maximum city

Aliya Usman, an intern from Russia, is currently interning at ANB Consulting Pvt. Ltd. Here is what she has to say about her internship and Mumbai,

“Mumbai is not for everyone.

Some people would prefer better-organized Delhi, others peaceful Jaipur.

As for me – I love Maximum city. Maximum traffic, maximum people, maximum dust, maximum energy, and maximum affection… the list goes on.

This city has a special spirit: entrepreneurial, extremely fast developing and optimistic. This is the city of opportunities, where anything is possible. That’s why thousands of people come here; they live in slums, work hard and cherish hope. This is what differentiates Mumbai from other cities– human hope.

When you go for an internship in India, it can be a coin-toss. It can turn out to be horrible and boring or wonderful and exciting, and I’ve had a bit of both. But since I changed my internship and shifted from Delhi to Mumbai I’m the happiest AIESEC trainee in India.

My internship is in the business development department of ANB Consulting, where I work to expand our presence in the European and North American markets. We’re a fast-growing firm, and the management is very open and enthusiastic – which is inspiring because I get to learn from professionals who are passionate about what they do.

The company spirit is energetic without being stressful – which is something that I can really connect to after two years of work in AIESEC. Each employee knows what to do and we all give it every effort. At the same time, management respects individual personality, inspiring by its own performance and leading by example. I’m extremely grateful to my TN manager Priya Parekh for raising ANB Consulting Company so that I could have the chance to gain a truly great professional experience there.

AIESEC Mumbai gives us a number of internship opportunities to choose from, of life-changing opportunities. And I love them for it.”

Balakalakaar is an annual initiative taken up by the local office of AIESEC in Mumbai. It is organized with the aim of creating an opportunity for the under privileged children of the city to discover and develop their potential in creative exercises such as Art, Dance, Drama, Music, and Craft.

Balakalakaar is also aimed at connecting today’s youth to the less privileged children of the city thus giving them a chance to make a difference! Through this project we take one step forward towards our vision of ‘Fulfillment of Humankind’s Potential’
